We have a fantastic opportunity for a maintenance assistant to join our team. You will be ensuring the building fabrics, fixtures and fittings in all areas of the casino are maintained to a high standard and in safe, working order.
Key skills and responsibilities include:
- Mechanical skills (small plumbing, drainage, toilet maintenance and repair).
- Joinery skills (light carpentry).
- Painting and decorating.
- Completing regular repairs and general maintenance works.
- Computer literate (Microsoft Word, Outlook and some light Excel use)
- Keeping repair and maintenance records up to date for the casino.
- Ensuring compliance with industry standards and health and safety regulations.
- Reporting building/machinery faults to management for escalation to the nominatedcontractor.
- Reporting health and safety outages and where applicable fixing these with the view to preventing future occurrences.
- Supporting the hospitality department with the deliveries and cleaning of catering equipment.
- Liaising with third-party, nominated contractors when work cannot be self-delivered.
- A team player with good communication skills.
- A strong knowledge of safety standards.
- The ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines.
- Proficient in working alone as well as part of a team.
- Flexible with a positive attitude towards change.
Desired skills, but not essential include:
- IOSH Working Safely.
- Legionella awareness.
- IPAF/PASMA qualification.
- Electrical qualification e.g. City & Guilds 2391, NVQ level 3 or 18th Edition.
- First aid.
- Familiarity with RAMS and relevance to site works where applicable.
- Being flexible and able to work a variety of shifts including night shifts and weekends.
