Local Education is working in partnership with a well-established secondary school in Basildon, Essex, to appoint a Design and Technology Teacher for a permanent role starting September 2025.

This is a fantastic chance to teach within a forward-thinking and supportive DT department where practical learning and innovation are encouraged.

🔧 Role Summary:

Teach Design & Technology to KS3 and KS4 students

*

Plan engaging and hands-on lessons across DT specialisms (e.g., product design, resistant materials)

*

Support student progress through assessments and differentiation

*

Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the DT curriculum and extra-curricular projects

👤 The Ideal Candidate:

Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

*

Experience teaching DT in a secondary school setting

*

Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills

*

Strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for practical learning

*

Committed to student achievement and continuous professional development
