The Role

As a Tech Lead, you'll work across the full stack to design and deliver high-quality, scalable software solutions that support a growing global user base. You'll lead by example - guiding a small team of engineers, collaborating with designers and product managers, and delivering features through quick, iterative cycles that focus on measurable impact.

This is a hands-on leadership role, ideal for someone who enjoys both writing great code and helping others grow.

What You'll Do

• Lead the design and development of new features and core platform improvements
• Write high-quality, maintainable code across the MERN stack (MongoDB, Express, React, Node.js, TypeScript)
• Collaborate with designers, engineers, and product managers to plan and deliver projects
• Mentor and coach developers, providing technical feedback and guidance
• Conduct code reviews and contribute to engineering standards
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimise reliability and scalability
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and foster a culture of continuous improvement
• Stay current with modern development practices and bring new ideas to the team

What You'll Bring

• 5+ years' experience in software engineering (full stack)
• Experience leading or mentoring software teams
• Hands-on experience with Node.js, React, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, MongoDB, AWS
• Strong grasp of software architecture and scalable design principles
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and Agile or Scrum methodologies
• Experience working in a startup or fast-scaling SaaS environment
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• An interest in cybersecurity or edtech is a plus
