- Start Date: March, on a permanent contract
We are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic, and motivated Finance Manager to join our happy and caring team at a community primary school in Staines. Under the direction of the Headteacher, the Finance Manager will provide efficient administrative support and manage the financial operations of the school.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Setting and managing budgets to ensure efficient financial operations.
- Acting as the main financial consultant to the Governors, Headteacher, and Teaching Staff.
- Ensuring compliance with Committee’s and County Council financial regulations and practices.
- Overseeing the proper collection, reconciliation, and banking of income including parental donations, lettings payments, and school visits payments.
- Preparing financial reports and forecasts to assist in decision-making and strategic planning.
- Managing procurement and expenditure to maximise cost-efficiency.
- Liaising with external auditors and ensuring that the school is prepared for audits.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in financial management or a similar role.
- Strong understanding of budgeting and financial management.
- Excellent organisational and leadership abilities.
- Knowledge of financial regulations and accounting procedures.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in financial software and MS Office.
