Clerk of Works

Location: Central London

Salary: £65,000- £75,000 + Package

My client is one of Londons largest property owners, who are involved in a number of real estate investment and development projects in Central London. They are looking for a Clerk of Works to join their growing team.

Clerk of Works- Overview

To have day to day responsibility for the quality management of construction projects.
Inspecting construction work and ensuring compliance with drawings and specifications
Measuring and quality checking building materials
Identifying defects and suggesting ways to correct them
Monitoring progress and reporting to construction managers, architects and management
Keeping detailed records of work
Referring to plans and taking photographs of work, along with measurements and samples
Liaising with contractors, engineers and surveyors
Checking that building regulations, health and safety, legal and ecological requirements are met
To maintain effective relationships in order to ensure the successful delivery of projects with all relevant stakeholders

Clerk of Works- Job Requirements:

The ideal candidate must come from the construction industry as a Clerk of Works. You will also have the following skills, qualifications and experience:

Effective verbal and written communication skills
Excellent understanding of relevant legislation including building regulations, H&S, CDM etc
A 'can do' attitude with a willingness to challenge conventional thinking
Ability to use initiative and ability to remain calm in stressful situations
Ability to analyse quality of performance
Minimum 3 years experience working a similar role
