Certified or Registered Medical Assistant Opening

We are looking for a Certified or Registered Medical Assistant for a OBGYN in Akron.

Certified or Registered Medical Assistant Requirements, Qualifications, or skills required:

  • CMA is to assist all Physicians and midlevel providers with the daily operations of rooming and preparation for physician exam and to act as a team in performing these functions to achieve optimal patient care.
  • CMA is to assist patients with their needs in office and out of office requests.
  • Oversee and ensure efficient turnover of exam rooms.
  • Maintain exam rooms in a neat and clean manner at all times.
  • Wiping with disinfectant when needed. Cleaning speculums and equipment properly.
  • Comply with patient needs at all times.
  • Escort patients from waiting room to examination rooms.
  • Remove all dressings, stitches, etc., take accurate vitals and provide patients with gowns as necessary.
  • Ensure patient charts contain all pertinent information and are placed in designated areas for Physician's use.
  • Alert Physicians of patient's allergies and/or concerns prior to beginning exams.
  • Assist Physicians with injections, aspirations and/or any other procedures as necessary.
  • Monitor supply levels and replace as needed.
  • Instruct patients regarding information needed once they leave the office, such as medication uses.
  • Photocopy/fax information given to patients as needed and place copies in charts.
  • Apply knowledge of sterile techniques and OSHA regulations.
  • Handle patients lab reports, path reports and other results as instructed with proper documentation and follow-up.
  • Handle nursing calls appropriately, promptly and effectively.
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned.
  • To follow all HIPAA rules and regulations for privacy.
  • High School graduate, college degree a plus.
  • Previous medical receptionist or hospital admitting experience.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Computer literate in Windows based applications, up to date with Windows 2007.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to deal with varying levels of general public from diverse culture and socio-economic backgrounds.
  • Typing skills.
  • Understands the ethics of patient and office confidentiality.
  • Ability to comprehend medical office routines and policies.
  • Learns quickly from verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to keep some financial records and perform mathematical tasks.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Tact and diplomacy.
  • Previous experience with public relations.
  • Able to work well under pressure.
  • Pleasant personality.
  • Ability to communicate well with people in personal contacts and on the phone.
  • Honest and can be trusted with confidential information.
  • Can effectively act as a liaison between patient, physicians and other office staff.
  • Must have a neat and friendly professional appearance and high level of personal and dental hygiene.
  • Punctual in commencing office hours.

Certified or Registered Medical Assistant Benefits:

  • Work Schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:20am to 5pm. Will be required to work on early and one late shift after 90 days (Start time would be 8:15am one day and week and late day would be 8:20-6pm one day a week.)
  • Temp to perm position (Permanent after 90 days) Benefits offered at that time
  • $14 an hour to start.
