SEN Teaching Assistant - Alternative Provision (Gardening & Outdoor Learning Focus)

Location: Taunton, Somerset
Pay: £14.66 per hour (PAYE) or £16.14 per hour (Umbrella)
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 08:30 - 16:00 (Early finish Friday at 15:30)

Prospero Teaching is looking for a SEN Teaching Assistant to join a mainstream secondary school and help run an alternative provision focused on gardening and outdoor activities. This is a rewarding role for someone who enjoys hands-on learning and making a positive impact.

Key Responsibilities

Support students with SEN needs (including SEMH, ASC, ADHD) in a creative, nurturing environment.
Lead and assist with gardening and outdoor learning projects.
Deliver tailored interventions and encourage engagement through practical activities.
Promote independence, confidence, and wellbeing.

Ideal Candidate

Experience working with SEN students or a strong interest in special education.
Enthusiasm for gardening/outdoor learning.
Ability to build positive relationships and manage challenging behaviour calmly.
Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
Right to work in the UK
