A local authority is seeking a Finance Business Partner to join its dedicated finance team. These roles offer a unique opportunity to influence financial strategy and support service delivery across a diverse and evolving council.

Role Overview

As Finance Business Partner you will act as a key financial advisor to designated service areas, providing expert analysis, guidance, and support. Responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with service managers to manage budgets and achieve strategic goals
  • Leading on budget setting, monitoring, and forecasting
  • Driving value for money through financial insight and modelling
  • Ensuring compliance with financial regulations and internal controls
  • Supporting business case development and investment decisions

This is a strategic position that combines technical expertise with strong stakeholder engagement.

Candidate Profile

Ideal candidates will be:

  • Fully or part-qualified accountants (CCAB or AAT or ACCA or CIMA or ACA) with relevant public sector experience (very desirable not essential)
  • Skilled in financial planning, reporting, and analysis
  • Effective communicators, able to present complex financial information clearly
  • Proactive and collaborative, with a commitment to continuous improvement

Experience with financial systems and a track record of delivering high-quality financial advice are essential.
