HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / HGV Fitter - Stoke-on-Trent Nights

Location: Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire

Salary: £25.18 per hour - £58,200

Shift: Monday to Friday, 10:30 PM - 7:00 AM

We are looking for a reliable HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic, or Commercial Vehicle Technician to join a busy, well-equipped night-shift workshop in Stoke-on-Trent. This permanent role offers hands-on experience with HGVs and trailers, advanced diagnostics, and a supportive team environment.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out servicing and inspections to VOSA standards
Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults accurately
Repair HGVs, trailers, and related components
Attend roadside breakdowns and customer sites as required
Ensure all work meets safety and quality standards
Work with the parts department to source components
Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workshop
Complete job cards, service sheets, and reports accurately
Keep up to date with technical training and manufacturer developments
Skills and Qualifications

Essential

Previous experience as an HGV Technician, Mechanic, or Commercial Vehicle Technician
Confident with diagnostics, fault finding, and repairs
Strong communication skills and ability to work independently or in a team
Attention to detail and focus on quality and safety
Desirable

Full HGV (Class 1 or 2) or PSV driving licence
Experience with diagnostic software and fault-code tools
