Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Design HVAC systems for commercial, industrial, institutional, municipal and office buildings. Recommend mechanical system components. Produce high-quality engineering drawings, plans and specifications and other mechanical deliverables that conform to relevant building codes and EMEG standards. Consult with clients and other engineering disciplines regarding project status and changes. Resolve mechanical installation challenges as they occur.
Education, Experience and Skills
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
Minimum of 3-5 years professional experience with a MEP firm required. Extensive knowledge of HVAC codes and standards. Extensive knowledge of mechanical products and systems, construction methods and materials and the economics involved.
High developed AutoCAD skills, Revit experience helpful.
Problem-solving skills necessary to overcome design challenges while considering the interests of other engineering disciplines.
Communication skills necessary to resolve engineering/design challenges with project partners--A&E firms, clients, contractors and suppliers.
Interpersonal skills necessary to nurture long-term business relationships with clients and project partners.
