A leading engineering business is seeking a talented and driven Design Engineer to join its expanding technical team. Focused on the design and development of innovative electro/mechanical products, this role offers the opportunity to be involved in projects from concept through to deployment.

Key Responsibilities:

* Creation and management of parts and Bills of Materials (BOM)

* Redesign of existing products for performance and manufacturability

* Development of Installation & Maintenance (I&M) documentation

* Conducting Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA)

* Participation in New Product Introduction (NPI) projects

* 3D CAD modelling and creation of electrical schematics/drawings (SolidWorks)

* Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams across engineering and operations

* Ensuring compliance with relevant UK regulations and standards

Ideal Candidate Profile:

Essential:

* Proficient in SolidWorks

* Previous experience in a product development role

Desirable:

* Degree in Control and Systems Engineering or related discipline

* Experience with PLCs, Python or C# coding

* Knowledge of wireless technologies (radio, Bluetooth), battery-powered systems

* Familiarity with UK compliance standards (e.g., CE/UKCA, EMC, IP ratings)

* Experience in prototype development and electromechanical systems

Qualifications:

* HND / Degree in a relevant engineering field
