Pastoral Support Worker - Secondary School - Camden - September 2026 Start - Full-Time

Tradewind Recruitment is working with inclusive and well-regarded secondary schools in Camden, seeking a dedicated Pastoral Support Worker to join their pastoral and safeguarding teams on a full-time, long-term basis from September 2026. This is a key role where you will have a direct impact on students' wellbeing, behaviour, and personal development from the start of the academic year.

Pastoral Support Worker - Role Overview

In this role, you will support students across KS3 and KS4, particularly those facing emotional, behavioural, or attendance challenges. You will:

Provide 1:1 and small group pastoral support for targeted students
Support students with SEMH needs, behavioural challenges, and social difficulties
Build strong, trusting relationships to improve engagement and outcomes
Work closely with Heads of Year, safeguarding leads, SENCOs, and attendance teams
Deliver behaviour support strategies and lead restorative conversations
Monitor student progress, wellbeing, and attendance
Liaise with parents/carers to support student development
Support reintegration plans and early intervention strategies
Uphold safeguarding responsibilities at all times

Requirements

Previous experience in a secondary school setting (essential)
Proven experience supporting students with SEMH or behavioural needs
Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
A calm, patient, and resilient approach
Ability to build rapport with students from diverse urban backgrounds
Excellent communication and organisational skills
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
