Finance Manager (Part-Time) – Hemel Hempstead - £40,000FTE

Are you an experienced Finance Manager or Senior Bookkeeper looking for a part-time role where you can genuinely take ownership and make an impact?

Our client is a well-established, design-led business operating within the high-end residential sector. They work on project-based delivery, meaning each job carries its own cost profile, margin and timeline. As a result, finance plays a key role in ensuring projects remain profitable, cashflow is managed effectively and costs are accurately tracked.

This is not a transactional role. It requires someone who understands how to link the numbers back to projects, spot inconsistencies and maintain a high level of accuracy across the finance function.

Working directly with the business owner, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day finance operations using Xero. This will include maintaining clean and accurate bank reconciliations, overseeing supplier payments, raising and managing stage-based invoices and ensuring all postings are correctly coded. You will also support cashflow management, track costs across live projects and help bring structure and clarity to financial processes.

There is also a light operational element to the role, supporting the smooth running of the office where required.

The business is looking for someone meticulous, organised and confident working independently. You will need strong Xero experience and a solid understanding of project-based or SME accounting, ideally within sectors such as construction, manufacturing or similar environments.

This role would suit someone returning to work who wants flexibility without compromising on responsibility, or an experienced finance professional looking for a part-time position where they can truly take ownership and add value.
