The Role
As Production Systems Engineer, you will sit within the Operations team and act as the key link between Production, Engineering, Quality and Planning. You will integrate production planning, manufacturing engineering and quality systems to ensure products are delivered safely, on time and to the right Quality, Cost and Delivery (QCD) targets.
Key Responsibilities

Create and manage production schedules to meet customer demand and delivery dates; monitor progress and address delays or bottlenecks.
Maintain accurate ERP/MRP data (routes, lead times, capacities) and liaise with Production, Purchasing and Engineering to ensure material and resource availability.
Provide day-to-day engineering support on the shopfloor for CNC turning and milling (3-5 axis), driving robust, efficient processes.
Produce and maintain PFMEAs, Control Plans, process flow charts and SOPs, ensuring processes are controlled, documented and auditable.
Apply Lean tools (5S, SMED, waste reduction) and support Design for Manufacture to reduce cost and lead time.
Support and maintain quality systems in line with business and customer requirements, including root cause analysis, CAPA and quality KPIs.
Support cross-functional CI projects, promote best practice and standardisation, and help production teams achieve daily targets.
Train and guide operators through process changes and promote strong 5S and workplace organisation.About You

HNC/HND/Degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering (or equivalent).
3+ years' experience in a CNC machining environment, ideally with both turning and milling.
Confident using ERP/MRP systems for production planning and control.
Familiar with CAD/CAM (e.g. SolidWorks, Creo, Mastercam, Edgecam) and quality tools (PFMEA, Control Plans, RCA).
Strong problem-solving skills, organised and detail-focused, with the ability to work proactively and support/train others.If you're an experienced production / manufacturing engineer from a CNC environment who enjoys improving processes and working closely with operations, quality and planning, this role offers a great opportunity to make a real impact
