We are recruiting for a Finance Assistant to join a fast-growing and dynamic business. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start their career in finance within a supportive environment where professional development is encouraged.

The role will be predominantly based in our Reading office, with one day per week required at our newly acquired Bristol office. Working closely with the Finance team and reporting to the UK Financial Controller, you will gain exposure to a broad range of finance activities and develop the foundations for a long-term career in finance and accounting.

Duties will include

• Recording and monitoring the movement of invoices and processing them for payment
• Performing bank and cashbook reconciliations
• Supporting the Finance team with day-to-day financial transactions
• Ensuring costs are accurately coded and authorised before processing
• Maintaining organised supplier records and invoice documentation
• Monitoring and reconciling petty cash
• Preparing and reporting introductory commission payments
• Completing balance sheet reconciliations
• Supporting month-end, quarter-end and year-end processes
• Assisting team members with ad-hoc finance tasks and projects

Skills & Experience

• A strong interest in finance, accounting, or business studies
• Ability to work effectively within a small, collaborative team
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Analytical mindset and problem-solving ability
• Moderate Excel skills
• Basic knowledge of accounting software would be beneficial, although training will be provided
