Shift Engineer - Multi-skilled Engineers (Mechanical)

Our client, one of the UK's premier manufacturers of civil and construction steel products is looking for an experienced, Maintenance Engineer to work within their manufacturing facility in the Sheffield area. With a wide range of products our client is able to give total solutions to its customers needs as well as offer to each customer a level of unparalleled service and technical back up. The key to this role is ability to work within a production and manufacturing company maintaining and fault finding on a range of electro-mechanical systems such as hydraulics, pneumatics, cutting and bending machines as well as machine shop equipment with some basic electrical experience.

The Role

This role is responsible for the maintenance and repair of all mechanical and electromechanical equipment within our client's facility. Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, bearings is required# and if possible, some basic electrical exposure to things like 3 phase electrical, motors, drives, controls which would be found in cutting and bending machines. The role requires applicants who have reactive and proactive maintenance and repair experience as well as fault finding experience. These are industrial engineering types of roles and require applicants to work on an early and late rotation Monday to Friday. Overtime will be available and applicants who are happy to pick this up would be ideal.

The Person

Applicants will preferably have present or previous mechanical and electrical maintenance and repair experience. Applicant with fault finding experience would be ideal. Applicants should be suitably qualified within mechanical trade experience and if possible, some basic electrical knowledge (mechanically time served or apprenticeship) but should ideally be mechanically multi-skilled with some basic electrical experience.
