Job Description

Mohr Solutions is looking to hire Level 2 - 4 Installation Technicians for a 6 month project in Aurora, CO. The project start date is Friday, July 6th. The schedule will be 9pm-5am, Sunday-Friday.

LEVEL 2

Reports to: Lead Installer

Status: Nonexempt, Hourly

Summary: The Level 2 Installation Technician provides professional support with the installation of Mohr Solutions products and services.

Pay: $15-$19/hr

Minimum Requirements:

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED.
  • Experience: Experience in construction preferred.
  • Applicant Requisites: Pass allstandard screening processes, UA test, background check, and MVR check.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Proven Competency in all areas as level 1 installer.
  • Addition and removal of common systems hardware including replacement of batteries, auxiliary framing, interconnects, conductance, strapping, torquing, anchoring and labeling of grounding systems.
  • Perform tasks including but not limited to drilling, leveling and securing anchoring auxiliary framing and battery racking systems, sewing of power and copper cables, bussing systems; pre-terminate and terminate fiber cable.
  • Able to operate power tools designed for cabling and lugging. Ex. Hydraulic Crimping Tool, Cable Cutters, Heat, etc.
  • Addition and removal of fiber raceway (Non-working equipment only and switchboard cable only).
  • Conduct lead verification and continuity testing.
  • Be supervised at all times when engaged in level 3 or 4 work activities.
  • Able to adhere to company provided regulation and guidelines. Ex. Employee Handbook, Battery Safety Manual, OSHA guidelines, ect.
  • Attend weekly safety meetings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

LEVEL 3

Reports to: Project Manager

Positions Directly Supervised: None (Provides daily instruction to installers)

Summary: The Level 3 Installation Technician is responsible for all functions associated with the addition, modification or removal of Common Equipment Systems.

Pay: $18-$25/hr

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent; technical degree preferred.
  • Meet or exceed Skill Level 3 requirements per GR1275 - Installer Skill Assessment.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Possess working knowledge in VRLA and Flooded Battery Maintenance including replacement of cells, racks, and auxiliary framing, interconnects, conductance, torquing, strapping, anchoring, labeling, leveling, and grounding of systems.
  • Perform diversified tasks including but not limited to anchoring, leveling, drilling, securing racks and cables, sewing of power cable, fasten cooper connectors, DC bussing, cell installation, copper power termination, and installation of floor support.
  • Perform installation and removal of fiber optic cables.
  • Perform fiber cable pre-termination and termination.
  • Perform fiber raceway.
  • Perform lead verification/community testing.
  • Analyze job specifications and drawings.
  • Provide job assignments to level 1 or 2 installers.
  • Prepare method of procedures (MOP).
  • Prepare job information procedures (JIM).
  • Resolve job specifications and /or drawing problems.
  • Mark/correct office record drawings.
  • In-process and final quality inspections.
  • Be capable of performing as the installation supplier’s in-charge person on common system jobs.
  • Possess working understanding of Alarms, Float, Equalize, Internal Resistance, Connection Resistance, Microhms, MHOS, Rectifiers, and PDUs.
  • Possess an understanding of EPA and HAZMAT regulations and guidelines involving the recycling of batteries.
  • Operate tools designed for cabling and lugging such as hydraulic crimping tools, cable cutters, heat gun, and so on.
  • Operate test equipment using Alber and Midtronics.
  • Possess an understanding of OSHA regulations and guidelines.
  • Attend regular safety meetings and additional meetings when requested.
  • Perform other duties and tasks as assigned

Knowledge:

  • Operate mechanical equipment, tools, and supplies used in the area of work assigned.
  • Knowledgeable of occupational hazards and standard safety practices necessary in area of work assignment.
  • Experience with 12, 24, 48, VDC systems a plus

Skills:

  • Computer skills, including familiarity and experience with a variety of software applications, such as: the Microsoft Office suite Applications - Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Effective organizational, problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Organizational and office skills.

Abilities:

  • Identify problems and implement solutions.
  • Ability to verbally communicate effectively and tactfully at all levels, both oral and written.
  • Ability to handle constantly changing priorities and demands and work well under pressure.

LEVEL 4

Reports to: Project Manager

Positions Directly Supervised: None (Provides daily instruction to installers)

Summary: The Level 4 Installation Technician is responsible for all functions associated with the addition, modification or removal of Common Equipment Systems.

Pay: $24-$30/hr

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent; technical degree preferred.
  • Meet or exceed Skill Level 4 requirements per GR1275 - Installer Skill Assessment.
  • Smart phone; must own and use for minor communication.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Generate and submit Method of Procedures (MOPs).
  • Conduct daily Safety meetings and goal setting for assigned projects.
  • Perform equipment installation, commissioning and testing services.
  • Manage multiple projects; prioritize and allocate assigned resources.
  • Analyze, plan, layout and assign daily installation activities to Level 1-3 installers.
  • Evaluate Level 1-3 skill level and performance. As needed, provide on the job training.
  • Inventory and prepare material reports.
  • Conduct in-process and final quality audits.
  • Prepare and submit daily project status reports to customer and Project Manager.
  • Identify & recommend solutions to project specific issues; as needed prepare Change Order Request.
  • Perform software additions, upgrades or migrations.
  • Modify wiring and connections to existing equipment.
  • Support customer during equipment testing and / or migrations.
  • Update office records and installation specification to document accurate "as built" information.
  • Prepare and submit project close out documentation.
