We are seeking an experienced Food Buyer to join a renowned organisation that has lead the way in sustainability initiatives.

Based in Reigate (Surrey) office, Mon-Thursday with Friday WFH.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food procurement, ideally experience gained with fish, seafood or meat. This role involves sourcing high-quality seafood directly from suppliers and fisheries, ensuring ethical and sustainable practices are upheld.

Key Responsibilities:

* Procurement: Source and purchase fish and seafood directly from suppliers and fisheries.

* Supplier Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and fisheries to ensure consistent quality and supply.

* Quality Assurance: Ensure all seafood meets the company's high standards for quality and sustainability.

* Market Analysis: Monitor market trends and prices to make informed purchasing decisions.

* Inventory Management: Manage inventory levels to meet customer demand while minimizing waste.

* Compliance: Ensure all procurement activities comply with industry regulations and company policies.

* Reporting: Prepare regular reports on procurement activities, market trends, and supplier performance.

Qualifications:

* Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in food procurement, with a focus on fish and seafood.

* Knowledge: Strong understanding of the seafood industry, including market trends, pricing, and sustainability practices.

* Skills: Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.

* Ethical Commitment: Passion for ethical and sustainable sourcing practices.

* Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred.
