Salary: £36000 - £38000 per annum

Platform Resourcing are working with an established and rapidly expanding engineering company to find a Process Engineer, to join their team in Cwmbran, South Wales.

The successful candidate will be reporting to the Production Manager whilst working closely with the engineering team, you will be working for a rapidly expanding company in a challenging and robust industry.

In this role, you will be working on engineering projects relating to new and existing road/rail plant, construction machinery and commercial vehicles.


  • Salary up to £38,000 but negotiable for the right candidate
  • Hours Mon - Fri 8am to 5pm
  • Overtime available
  • Workshop/ Office based, no travel
  • 20 days holidays plus 8 stats


  • Work with various teams on multiple projects to continuously improve and maintain operational processes
  • Identify ways to reduce production costs, project plan changes and implement challenging deadlines
  • Work with Engineering team to generate build and assembly method
  • Carry out Bill of Material checks
  • Define manufacturing processes, identify time saving measures and improve overall manufacturing efficiency
  • Drive continuous improvements and quality measures within the manufacturing process including culture
  • Reading 2D engineering drawings and technical specifications
  • Identify and plan tooling and facilities investment
  • Perform Risk Analysis
  • Work closely with engineering teams to ensure that equipment reliability and repeatability is maintained at the optimum level
  • Lead meetings as necessary for delivery of organisation and personal objectives.

Essential Skills:

  • Experience within a Process Improvement role in an Engineering/ Manufacturing environment
  • Educated in an Engineering discipline
  • Project Management experience
  • Experience within a role that requires you to reduce costs, reduce waste and increase efficiency
  • Implementation of new equipment and products in an engineering environment would be very beneficial
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Lean Management ways of working
  • Tactful, diplomatic and ability to influence at management level
  • Experience of project management
  • Understanding of the legislative requirements for placing products onto the market
  • Good time management, ability to plan and prioritise own workload with a strong focus on delivery


  • Experience of working with diesel powered, heavy duty off-highway equipment
  • Experience of working within the railway industry
  • Experience of working within the automotive sector
  • Understanding of hydraulics, mechanics and electrics
