A long-established and profitable specialist in industrial refrigeration solutions is seeking an experienced and driven Managing Director to lead the next stage of growth.

About the Role

As Managing Director, you will have full responsibility for leading a skilled team ensuring operational excellence and commercial success across all departments. You will work closely with departmental heads and play a hands-on role in strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Operations

* Provide strategic and operational leadership across all areas of the business.

* Manage department heads, including:

* Service Department - led by a Service Manager with a team of approximately 6 staff.

* Project/Technical Department - a team of specialists working on design, specification, and quotation of industrial refrigeration projects.

* Support and guide the technical sales team, including senior technical sales leads.

Commercial & Strategic

* Drive business growth, profitability, and long-term strategic planning.

* Maintain strong customer relationships and support the development of new business opportunities.

* Monitor financial performance, budgets, and forecasting to ensure ongoing stability.

* Evaluate market trends, competitor activity, and potential recruitment opportunities within the competitor landscape.

About You

We are looking for a leader who brings:

* Proven experience managing multi-disciplinary teams in a technical, engineering, HVAC, or industrial refrigeration environment.

* Strong commercial acumen and a track record of driving profitable growth.

* Excellent communication, leadership, and people-management skills.

* The ability to identify, attract, and develop talent—including potentially recruiting from competitor organisations.
