OverviewWe are seeking an Advanced Vehicle Efficiency Integration Lead Engineer to play a key role in shaping the next generation of intelligent, energy‑optimised luxury vehicles. This position supports the Efficiency Product Owner in delivering data‑driven, technologically advanced solutions that enhance real‑world and homologated vehicle efficiency and driving range.
You will collaborate with cross‑functional engineering teams during the earliest stages of vehicle development, using robust data analysis to identify risks, opportunities, and strategic direction related to all vehicle energy nodes.
Key ResponsibilitiesReporting to the Vehicle Architecture Efficiency Product Owner and operating within an Agile environment, you will:
Strategic & Technical Leadership- Lead target setting for the Vehicle Efficiency attribute, including:
- Competitive benchmarking
- Fleet compliance assessments
- Customer usage data analysis
- Legislative and regulatory reviews
- Work closely with energy node owners to influence strategic technology roadmaps aligned to customer and efficiency requirements.
- Assess and negotiate compatibility between efficiency targets and energy node performance.
Collaboration & Governance- Partner with tools and methods teams to ensure Vehicle Efficiency development requirements are clearly defined and aligned with programme goals.
- Coordinate and contribute to virtual verification activities and performance data analysis.
- Support programme governance by identifying risks, opportunities, and recommended actions throughout vehicle development.
Additional Contributions- Where programme needs allow, support tool and method development initiatives.
- Carry out any additional duties relevant to the role as requested by line management.
Skills & ExperienceEssential- Strong technical understanding of vehicle energy nodes and their impact on vehicle‑level efficiency and driving range (e.g., road load, propulsion efficiency, electrical loads).
- Significant experience in vehicle attribute and/or system delivery.
- A methodical engineering mindset with structured problem‑solving capabilities.
- Excellent data‑driven storytelling and presentation skills, able to communicate complex risk and opportunity scenarios effectively.
- Strong communication skills, capable of simplifying and articulating complex technical topics.
- Self‑motivated and comfortable delivering value autonomously within an Agile operating model.
- Highly organised with strong attention to technical administration and detail.
Desirable- Experience working with Agile methodologies.
- Knowledge of vehicle efficiency legislative homologation and certification processes.
- Familiarity with CAE testing methodologies relating to vehicle efficiency.
Education- Degree‑level qualification, ideally in Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
