Accountant - Busy Accountancy Practice | Newham, London

We are currently seeking a qualified Accountant (ACCA or equivalent) to join a fast-paced accountancy practice based in the London Borough of Newham.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a confident professional who can use their own initiative, while also taking direction and full control of financial matters across a diverse client portfolio.

About the Role
You will be working in a dynamic and growing practice, managing a varied portfolio of clients including Sole Traders, SMEs, and large corporations. This role offers autonomy, responsibility, and the opportunity to make a real impact.

Key Responsibilities

Preparation of year-end accounts for a range of clients

*

Managing and submitting VAT returns in line with HMRC requirements

*

Preparation of management accounts and financial reports

*

Handling corporation tax and self-assessment returns

*

Overseeing bookkeeping and ensuring accuracy of financial records

*

Acting as a key point of contact for clients, providing financial advice and support

*

Supporting audits where required

*

Managing deadlines and ensuring full compliance

Requirements

*

ACCA qualified (or equivalent such as ACA or CIMA)

*

Proven experience within an accountancy practice (essential)

*

Strong knowledge of UK accounting standards and tax regulations

*

Ability to work independently and take ownership of financial responsibilities

*

Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills

*

Excellent communication skills with a client-focused approach

*

Experience using accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage
