Job Title: Senior Design Engineer

Location: Watford

Salary: £51,000 - £65,000 + Car Allowance

Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent

A leading construction and engineering firm is looking for a Senior Design Engineer to join their team in Watford. This is a great chance to take the lead on complex civil and structural projects and make a real impact.

Key Responsibilities of the Senior Design Engineer:

Lead and manage the design and engineering phases of major projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Produce, review, and approve engineering drawings, designs, and specifications.
Collaborate closely with architects, project managers, and contractors to ensure design alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and design staff.
Conduct site visits to monitor design implementation and address technical challenges.
Participate in value engineering, risk assessments, and project planning activities.
Ensure project milestones, budgets, safety standards, and quality benchmarks are consistently met.

Candidate Profile:

Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master's preferred)
Chartered or working towards CEng status
Strong design background in civil or structural engineering
Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, STAAD Pro, or similar
Solid understanding of codes, standards, and regulations
Great communicator and confident team player
