Home Health Specialist Position available in Leesburg, VA

 

Make a meaningful difference in helping someone live healthy and independent!  Assist patients in selecting items that will allow them to stay happy and in their own home.  You can help eliminate the worry and replace it with peace of mind for family members.  The Compounding Center is looking for caring individuals who are able to assist patients in aging gracefully.  We are an independent, employee owned pharmacy in Leesburg, Virginia that has been serving Loudoun County for over 40 years. The Compounding Center has wide range of medical products and services that is offered to the Loudoun County community.  Our growing medical equipment section has a full time position available to help meet the needs of our patients.  Patients depend on the staff’s personal service, expertise, quality and knowledge of products and services.

 

While this position vary in the duties performed.  All candidates must meet the following criteria:

The Home Health Specialist is responsible for promoting and growing The Compounding Center’s medical equipment, compression socks and orthopedic sales by offering an outstanding customer experience.  This is accomplished through performing duties that drive sales through product knowledge, merchandising, promotional ideas, register functions, and other related duties. Collaborating with management, coworkers and vendor reps to recommend companion sales and other activities as identified to clients of The Compounding Center.  In addition to working with customers this position requires purchasing and receiving of products, equipment assembly and working with vendors for further product knowledge and incentive programs. 

 

Duties and Responsibilities

 

1.      Customer Service

a.       Approach and welcome each customer/patient/caregivers to the pharmacy

b.      Relationship build with customers/patients/caregivers

c.       Engage customers by listening to their needs and making recommendations for products to help them reach their objective

d.      Answer incoming calls and assisted caller with their needs; transfer calls as needed

e.       Inform and educate customers/patients/caregivers about the different features (turning them into benefits) of each item and how to safely use the product

f.       Offer other services/products that may aid or benefit the customer/patient

g.      Proactively call or inform patients/customers of new product information that may interest them

h.      Assemble and install medical equipment and repair or arrange for repair of larger items as customers request

i.        Facilitate delivery of DME (Durable Medical Equipment) items too large to mail or send via courier

2.      Sales

a.       Process sales and credits by utilizing a POS system

b.      Promote loyalty program for customer/patient benefits

c.       Offer other services to make it easier for the customer/patient to do business with The Compounding Center

d.      Provide product and sales training to staff

3.      Inventory Control

a.       Work with vendors for product ordering, returns and education

b.      Stay within ordering budget and meet or exceed sales budgets

c.       Assist in check in merchandise using POS system

                                                              i.      Maintain quantities on hand

                                                            ii.      Maintain accurate retail and cost pricing

                                                          iii.      Replenish items on shelves

d.      Assist with developing and promoting sales

e.       Manage the special order process

                                                              i.      Collect payment in advance and record patient contact information

                                                            ii.      Inform patients when items are ready for pick up

                                                          iii.      Store items in a systematic way so that other employees can assist when needed

f.       Maintain Rental Equipment in terms of cleanliness, proper working order, and retirement of older equipment

g.      Review products periodically for presence and accuracy of pricing and location; rearrange, delete or add to product display as necessary; keeping products fresh and new are a must

4.      Facility Maintenance

    1. Maintain a clean, neat and organized work area
    2. Keep store supplies well stocked for daily use
    3. Remove trash regularly
    4. Straighten and front merchandise

5.      Regulatory Requirements

a.       Completion of HIPAA, OSHA, FWA and Medication Error Training sessions during the first 90 days of employment and periodically as deemed necessary by management

 

 

 

Basis of Evaluation

 

1.      Using the company’s Performance and Evaluation Summary each employee will be evaluated based on their ability to abide by The Compounding Center’s Core Values:  (Make a Difference, Positive Attitude, Mentorship, Integrity, Knowledgeable, Teamwork, Pride and Responsibility).

2.      In addition, the following performance measures will be considered during the evaluation process.  The Home Health Coordinator at The Compounding Center shall:

a.       Approach/be available to each customer/patient

b.      Assist the customer with their needs

c.       Answer the questions of the customer/patient effectively and efficiently

d.      Increase of

                                                              i.      Loyalty customer membership/transactions

                                                            ii.      Dept sales

                                                          iii.      Increase in companion sales

                                                          iv.      Increase or maintain gross margins

                                                            v.      Presence in selected assisted living facilities

e.       Stay within budget requirements for ordering products; decrease of or minimal back stocked inventory; maintain a healthy inventory level

f.       Routinely check items to ensure top producers are always in stock and poor performers are kept at a minimum or eliminated

g.      Offer suggestions on products and services that will enhance the customer/patient’s experience or well being

h.      Maintain a neat, clean, and organized work area

i.        Minimize absences from work. 

j.        Abide by dress code

k.      Strive to minimize customer complaints

l.        Shall demonstrate an increase in his/her knowledge base

 

This is a full time position which includes the following benefits:

1.      Dental insurance after 30 days of service

2.      Paid holiday and sick leave after 90 days of service

3.      Vacation, retirement (401k), and free shares to the Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) are available after 1 year of service
