About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join a leading Main Contractor on a freelance basis, working on a high-profile healthcare project.

The successful candidate will play a key role in developing and managing electrical design solutions, ensuring compliance with technical standards, project specifications, and healthcare sector requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead electrical design development from concept through to detailed design.

Coordinate with internal teams, consultants, and subcontractors to ensure design integrity.

Produce detailed calculations using industry-standard software (Excel, Amtech, Dialux/Relux, and in-house tools).

Ensure compliance with HTM (Health Technical Memoranda) standards and all relevant regulations.

Provide technical guidance, resolve design challenges, and manage design risks.

Review and approve drawings, specifications, and technical submissions.

Support project delivery with a focus on quality, safety, and cost efficiency.

Requirements:

Proven experience as a Senior Electrical Design Engineer within large-scale healthcare or similarly complex projects.

Strong knowledge of healthcare design standards (including HTM / HBN).

Previous experience working with or for a Main Contractor is highly advantageous.

Excellent communication and coordination skills.

Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.

Freelance

£400 per day.
