Role Purpose As a Solution Architect you will be part of an industry award-winning, forward thinking, cross functional technology team.
You will take ownership in delivering technology, system design, methodologies and ;Work closely with relevant departments to develop and support the business delivering scalable, timely and effective IT solutions meeting business requirements, deadlines and adhering to industry and technical standards.
Role and Responsibilities: - Perform detailed analysis and design activities striving to improve technical architecture and business processes - Design high performance generic infrastructure for all major developments and to ensure that duplication of effort is minimised - Drive improvements to coding and architecture standards to ensure they are kept in line with current development methodologies and industry standards - Collaborate closely with Technical Leads and Principal Software Developers to ensure that implementations are in line with the architectural guidance - Collaborate with Technical Services to ensure that the hardware requirements are appropriate - Monitor and review the development and design undertaken by the department to ensure it is compliant to standards - Ensure the system is appropriately documented and to review and provide guidance on documentation - Define non-functional requirements (NFRs) for systems and applications.
- Proactively look at upcoming technologies and evaluate how they could benefit the business and present the findings to the appropriate people - Plan the effective adoption of new technologies, standards and frameworks within the department - Proactively identify areas of the systems which require improvement and propose solutions - Ensure all tasks take into consideration Security, Performance, Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Planning and other company policies - Provides timely and effective information for use in reports to the business and IT which outline progress and identifies any issues on all tasks Essential Criteria: - Excellent understanding and a good level of competency of good practice in the end-to-end processes of designing, building, testing and releasing software - Demonstrable experience of designing solutions for a fast-paced, high impacting, Agile digital delivery environment - Able to communicate a complicated problem succinctly, accurately and coherently to a team with different skill sets - Assess and collect all relevant information for design decisions and be able to interpret customer needs into business applications - Influence others through verbal communication and be able to articulate and present technical information in a structured and authoritative manner while gaining credibility for your own technical expertise Benefits Package 23 days’ holiday rising to 28 days with service + extra day’s leave for your birthday A paid charity day for you to work somewhere as part of our CSR commitments Hapi benefits program Free parking On-site gym with free personal training, personal lockers and showers On-site restaurant with Costa Coffee Free tea, coffee and fresh fruit Prayer room Employee assistance program
