An opportunity has arisen within our social housing organisation client for a management accountant to join their family feel finance team.
This role you will be expected to be in the office at least one day a week, with the rest of the time working from home.
We are looking for a management accountant who is able to provide the best financial information and support for the organisation.
Responsibilities will include:
- Production of monthly management and assisting with annual statutory accounts
- Preparation of budgets and forecasts
- Preparation of financial reports and liaison with budget holders and other stakeholders external to finance to discuss and review
- Maintaining a good level of technical accounting knowledge to ensure that accounts are prepared correctly and in line with the relevant accounting standards.
- Ensure all reporting deadlines are met without exception
- Manage workload, delivery and development of assistant management accountants
- Balance sheet reconciliations in accordance with best practice
- Journal processing, including ensuring the correct accounting of accruals and prepayments
- Review of assistant management accounts work to ensure accuracy
- Interrogation of financial systems to identify errors and make corrections
- Variance analysis
- Ad-hoc reporting and analysis
- Identify opportunities for improvements and challenge the status quo
- External returns and reporting
- Requirement to assist with projects and undertake additional responsibilities on an adhoc basis
Travel from various sites will be required in this role, so being a car driver and having access to a car is vital.
