Vanta Staffing are recruiting an experienced Transport Manager on behalf of a well-established and highly respected logistics operation specialising in air freight and European haulage.

This role is a proactive replacement within an established Transport Management team and offers an excellent opportunity for a specialist professional to step into a key leadership position.

You will be responsible for the safe, compliant and efficient management of a busy HGV fleet, working alongside two other experienced Transport Managers.

This position requires strong regulatory knowledge, commercial awareness, and hands-on leadership in a fast-paced, time-critical logistics environment.

• Full responsibility for O-Licence compliance, DVSA and Traffic Commissioner standards

• Maintain accurate fleet and operator data via the Gov.uk Vehicle Operator Licence portal

• Manage vehicle planners, fleet documentation and preventative maintenance schedules

• Enforce VOR policy and minimise fleet downtime

• Monitor driver defect reporting and ensure compliance

• Manage tachograph downloads, infringements and WTD reporting

• Review driver performance and deliver corrective training

• Oversee driver licence and DCPC compliance via RHA systems

• Manage vehicle defect tracking and daily handovers

• Escalate H&S and RTA incidents to senior management

• Oversee tyre inspections and supplier management

• Lead recruitment and onboarding of compliant PAYE drivers

• Conduct accident investigations and liaise with insurers

• Ensure site Health & Safety policies are followed

• Maintain continuous professional development

• Identify and implement improvements to transport operations

To be considered, you must demonstrate strong, relevant sector experience.

Essential:

• Minimum 5 years' experience in Transport / Fleet Management

• Transport Manager CPC (held for at least 2 years)

• Proven experience within Air Freight operations

• Experience working with European haulage networks

• Excellent knowledge of UK & EU transport legislation

• Strong leadership and team-working skills

• Full UK driving licence

Desirable:

• Class 1 licence

• Strong mechanical knowledge of trucks and trailers
