Salary: £22,100 (£17 per hour)

24 hours per week (Days) - Flexibility to work some weekends required 

 

Candidates need to be able to drive, due to the location of the Nursing Home. 

 

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Chef to join our client’s Nursing Home. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in culinary arts, preferably in a healthcare or hospitality setting. This role requires excellent cooking skills, a keen understanding of nutrition, and the ability to work effectively under pressure. As a Chef you will play a crucial role in providing delicious and nutritious meals tailored to meet dietary requirements of our client’s residents.

 

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience as a Chef, preferably in a healthcare/Nursing Home setting.
  • Level 2/3 in Food Preparation/Catering.
  • Food Hygiene Certificate  
  • Excellent cooking skills and knowledge of various cooking techniques.
  • Knowledge of nutrition and the ability to develop menus that meet dietary requirements.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and work efficiently under pressure.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and procedures.
  • Ability to train and supervise kitchen staff.
  • First Aid Certified.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook meals that meet the nutritional needs and dietary requirements of the residents.
  • Plan and develop menus, considering factors such as dietary needs, seasonal availability, and budget constraints.
  • Ensure that meals are prepared and presented to a high standard, taking into account texture, colour, and variety in accordance with prescribed diets.
  • Train and supervise kitchen staff, ensuring that food is prepared and served in a safe, efficient, and timely manner.
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen and storage areas, adhering to health and safety regulations and procedures.
  • Collaborate with the care team to address any special dietary requirements or resident preferences.
  • Manage kitchen inventory and expenses, adhering to budgetary requirements.
