Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias)

Location: 2 Campuses in City
Shift Pattern: Monday - Friday, 08:00-17:00 (40 hours per week)

Role Overview

An electrically‑biased Maintenance Engineer is required to support two London campuses, delivering planned preventative maintenance, reactive repairs, minor installations, and general building services support. You will ensure both sites operate safely, efficiently, and in line with statutory and organisational standards.

Key Responsibilities

* Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across both campuses, including fault finding, testing, repairs, and preventative upkeep of mechanical and electrical systems.

* Support building fabric maintenance as required.

* Maintain and update PPM records on site maintenance systems and hard‑copy logs.

* Ensure all engineering standards, safety procedures, and operational protocols are adhered to at all times.

* Inspect building services and respond proactively to issues, escalating where required.

* Attend site emergencies outside of standard working hours when necessary.

* Work safely within plant rooms and at height (all access equipment and PPE provided).

* Collaborate positively with site teams to ensure smooth contract delivery.

* Accurately maintain documentation and site records for all works completed.

* Undertake any additional duties as required by management.

Essential Qualifications & Experience

* City & Guilds Level 3 / NVQ in Building Services Engineering, Electrical Installation/Maintenance, or equivalent.

* Time‑served apprenticeship or equivalent technical training.

* Practical knowledge of building services engineering.

* Proficient with Microsoft Office and building management systems.

* Ability to work independently and handle lone‑working responsibilities.

* Strong customer‑service focus with a smart, professional appearance.

* Logical thinker with strong fault‑finding skills.

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

* Able to take instruction while contributing effectively to team success.

* Self‑motivated, adaptable, flexible, and willing to support wider team needs.

* Good understanding of workplace Health & Safety.

Desirable Qualifications & Skills

* IPAF or PASMA certification.

* Experience in HVAC and general building services engineering.

* City & Guilds 2391 (Electrical Test & Inspection).

* City & Guilds 2382 (18th Edition Regulations)
