Healthcare Assistant (HCA) - Surgical Ward

We are currently seeking an experienced Healthcare Assistant (HCA) to support our surgical ward team in Bristol. The ideal candidate will have recent experience working in a surgical or acute hospital setting and be confident in providing high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

Monitoring and recording patient vital signs

*

Understanding and applying NEWS2 (National Early Warning Score) procedures

*

Assisting patients with personal care, including mobility and toileting (bedpan/commode assistance)

*

Monitoring and documenting fluid balance

*

Supporting nursing staff with general ward duties and patient care

*

Maintaining accurate patient records and escalating concerns appropriately

Requirements:

*

Previous HCA experience in a surgical or acute hospital ward

*

Knowledge of vital signs monitoring and NEWS2 scoring

*

Experience with personal care and patient mobility support

*

Understanding of fluid balance monitoring

*

Good communication and teamwork skills

*

Right to work in the UK

*

Relevant care certificate or equivalent training preferred
