Leader Education are recruiting for a 1:1 Teaching Assistant who specialises in supporting children who have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) to work at a mainstream primary school based in Newcastle. The successful 1:1 Teaching Assistant will have prior experience working with children aged 3 to 11 years old who have SEND or physical impairments, a strong knowledge base on how to support children within the classroom and will be able to work with children on a 1:1 basis.

The normal working pattern is Monday to Friday 8:30am until 3:30pm and is a long-term position.

The successful Teaching Assistant will have:

• Experience and knowledge conducting 1:1 or small group support with students, ensuring they can access the curriculum and participate fully in school life
• An ability to assist with classroom activities, providing necessary accommodations and modifications to meet individual student's needs
• Experience and knowledge on monitoring and recording student progress, can report to teachers, and adapt support strategies when needed
• Can assist with behavioural management, ensuring a safe and respectful school environment for all students
