Technical Operations Technician

Full-time (40 Hour) - Varied Shift-based - Permanent Contract

We're looking for enthusiastic, practical person to join our clients Operations Team in Snetterton, Norfolk. Whether you're already working in power generation or coming from a hands‑on technical background with transferable skills, if you enjoy solving problems, working with machinery, and being part of a team that keeps essential equipment running smoothly, this could be the perfect move for you!

What You'll Do:
As a Technical Operations Technician, you'll help keep their Renewable Energy Power Plant running safely, reliably and efficiently form both the control room and around the Power Plant. You'll play a key role in ensuring the Plant produces clean, renewable energy for the local area.

Responsibilities of the Role:

Ensure the Power Plant is operated in accordance with safety, environmental, and operational limits, while maximising availability, reliability, and efficiency, whether working in the Control Room or on the Plant as required
Ensure compliance with all aspects of the Environmental Permit through correct operation and monitoring and report any potential or actual incidents to the Team Leader.
Undertake routine Plant inspections, operational routines, adjustments and testing alongside the collecting and recording of data.
Undertake planned general and first line maintenance and fault finding, to achieve availability and reliability targets required.
Monitor plant performance, identifying and taking proactive measures to improve performance shortfalls.
Adopting and enacting roles within the site safety rules, including the isolation of mechanical plant and electrical apparatus.
Support with the testing of the site emergency/abnormal condition plans.
Provide operational support for the maintenance and fuel handling teams to maximise plant performance and safety, particularly during fuel delivery and by-product removal periods.
Provide support for the receipt of all plant operational chemicals onto site.
Assist in maintaining an accurate and comprehensive shift log and ensuring all defects/works are recorded within the sites computer system.

Who They're Looking For:
You might already work in power generation, or you may come from another industry such as: Manufacturing, Engineering, Oil & Gas, FM/Maintenance, Armed Forces, Process/Production Plant, Utilities, Transport/warehouse and possess excellent technical experience.

What You'll Need (Essential):

Strong technical experience, knowledge and awareness.
A technical qualification (mechanical, electrical or controls) OR equivalent hands‑on industrial experience.
Practical experience working with machinery or process systems.
Good understanding of safety and willingness to follow procedures.
Excellent communication skills, hands‑on and a good problem solver.
Strong work ethic, attention to detail and safety awareness.
Able to stay focused during busy or changing situations.
A strong team player who also works well independently.
The flexibility and willingness to work a varied shift pattern over 24/7.
A full UK driving licence and your own transport.
What You'll Need (Beneficial but not Essential):

Experience in a power or process plant.
Knowledge of steam systems, boilers, turbines or similar equipment.
Forklift/loader/crane tickets.
Experience using a plant control system (DCS/HMI).
