Where will you be working?

MEICA and capital maintenance - Our Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Control & Automation (MEICA) experts offer a one-stop solution, including ongoing operation and maintenance services. 

What will you be doing?

As a Commercial Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in overseeing financial and contractual aspects, ensuring the smooth operation of projects and business development. You'll work closely with clients to understand their needs, negotiate agreements, and foster strong, long-term relationships that drive success.

You'll be responsible for managing costs, contracts, and commercial risks, ensuring that projects remain financially viable and align with business objectives. Supporting operational teams, you'll provide commercial guidance, helping to maximise profitability while maintaining compliance with industry standards and best practices.

Documentation and reporting will be key aspects of your role, ensuring that all commercial processes are up to date and aligned with company requirements. You'll also oversee supplier agreements, monitor performance, and contribute to strategic decision-making to support the growth and stability of the business.

Requirements:

You'll be advising and supporting the contract management team on cost and value reporting, ensuring required changes are implemented to meet profit targets
you'll be ensuring compliance with M Group and Client processes to minimise WIP (outstanding cash) and maintain targets within contract and business thresholds.
Assisting in the preparation of Contract Budget Forecasts, including reviewing margin improvement plans to maximise profitability.
Conducting risk analyses to identify, manage, and mitigate contract risks.
Acting as an effective negotiator at both internal and client levels, with the ability to liaise confidently with staff at Director status.
You'll produce weekly and monthly CVR's, presenting to the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) with clear narratives and supporting evidence to explain period movements, risks and opportunities.
Overseeing the procurement and management of subcontractors and suppliers to align with Business Director strategies, ensuring adherence to internal governance protocols.
Providing workstream level input into cash flow and aged debt reporting.
Implementing new processes as directed by the Commercial Director, while identifying and addressing risks in existing processes regarding compliance and suitability.
Supporting with commercial bidding matters and pricing strategies for contracts when required.Skills and Knowledge Requirements:

Effective communication, negotiation and Presentation skills
Detailed knowledge, understanding and previous experience of high value NEC contracts, experience in a capital delivery space would be beneficial.
Knowledge of work activities undertaken - Administrative and Operational.
An understanding of all relevant statutory, regulatory and company policies and guidelines.
The ability and desire to identify opportunities for improvement, and influence change.
Knowledge of service delivery within the utilities sector.
Client focus - build sound relationships with other senior leaders in partnership.
Relevant Hons Degree level qualification or equivalent.
