Job description

> A multi award winning caterers with 40 years of experience dealing with venue and event operations.

> We have a reputation for outstanding food and currently have a position available for an experienced Chef Manager who enjoys delivering quality food and or managing a variety of different busy café/restaurant operations including hospitality and corporate events.

> This role would primarily support Regional Venues for mobilisations, recruitment, vacancy and holiday cover. Regional venues currently are Cadbury World, Dudley Zoo and Farnborough International. This role would also support other venues when Regional Venues are out of peak time and there are no mobilisations, recruitment, vacancy and holiday cover required.

> The successful candidate would need to be centrally based to the 2 regional venues Cadbury World and Dudley Zoo and be willing to travel to Farnborough as they would need to be able to travel to anyone of them depending on the cover required. They would want to gain further managerial experience within varied operations in Amadeus and be looking for progression.

You will be responsible for:

• Being flexible to be able to support in a variety of roles both front of house and back of house in all regional venues.

• Team work, good time management and having a flexible approach to work in a 7 day week operation (weekends and Bank holidays) is essential along with the ability to meet deadlines and deliver exceptional customer service.

Qualifications and Experience required:

• Be competent in the different catering deliverance this includes been fully competent to manage and deliver a full menu range for large and complex events.

• Experience of working within a food/catering environment -essential.

• Previous project and relationship management experience.

• Excellent negotiating and influencing skills.

• Excellent communications skills both verbally and written as well as the ability to communicate at all levels.

• Ability to plan, coordinate and execute activities in a timely manner.

• Financial accounting and ability to manage budgets to achieve or exceed budgetary targets.

• NVQ LEVEL 2 or above in food preparation and cooking.

• Must have a minimum of 3 years' kitchen experience as a chef/cook and management experience front of house being able to train supervisors.

• Demonstrate creative culinary skills, the ability to multi-task and balance budgets, and save on costs.

• HND qualification with experience in multi-faceted catering retail environment.

• CIEH Intermediate Hygiene Certificate and IOSHH qualified preferred.

• Computer Literate to be competent in Microsoft Office.

• Proven ability to work under pressure with excellent customer service skills and an eye for “attention to detail”.

• First Aid qualification preferred.

• Ideally hold a personal liquor licence.
