KS2 Teaching Assistant - Stafford - Required Start: After Easter Term

We are seeking a committed and dedicated Teaching Assistant to support the Key Stage 2, year groups, supporting pupils on a daily basis with learning and fostering a stimulating and fulfilling environment in which all pupils want to learn. You will be working on a temporary basis, working through a teaching supply agency within local schools in the Stafford and Stone region.

Your duties as a Key Stage 2 Teaching Assistant will vary; you'll be working closely alongside the class teacher in order to support every member of the classroom. You will be expected to provide small group interventions in which you are working closely alongside a small number of pupils in order to revisit areas of the curriculum in which they may require more support. Your role may also include providing ongoing SEND support for individual pupils, this may include pupils with an EHCP.

The role includes:

  • Providing support to children and staff across a variety of year group within Key Stage 2.
  • To be willing to collaborate with the class teacher on a daily basis in order to provide necessary support to ensure each child is flourishing within the classroom.
  • Supporting those children in the classroom whom may require more individualised support; liaising with the teacher to create tailored plans in which how you will support the pupil.
  • Comfortable communicating with staff, parents and external professionals on a daily basis.
  • Comfortable in providing SEND support for individual pupils including those with an EHCP.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Can support a whole class within the Key Stage 2 age range, supporting each and every child as a teaching assistant
  • Confidently able to implement learning activities, adapt resources and provide valuable support to every child during lesson time and also in small group interventions.
  • Monitoring pupil progress; liaising with teachers, parents, SENDCo and external agencies.
  • May be required to run small group interventions such as guided reading, maths and literacy etc.
  • Responsibilities may also include providing 1:1 support where needed.
  • Able to foster and maintain a safe, inclusive and positive learning environments for all pupils.
  • Available to start ASAP.
  • Fully registered to work for Academics.
  • Holds or willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS.
  • Willing to commute to Stafford daily.

Pay: £90 - £100 a day (dependent upon experience). Holiday pay is included on day rate.
