Company Information:
Working for a contractor with over 30 years' experience in delivering and maintaining operational communication systems that have been selected to a shortlist of potential suppliers to provide telecoms and security systems for High Speed 2.

Role Profile:
This role will be integral in supporting the Programme Manager in the successful delivery of the HS2 Ops Comms & Security opportunity and subsequent project delivery. Our ideal candidate will have proven experience in supporting bids on major infrastructure projects, who are able to contribute to realistic design & buildability solutions, as well as complex logistics and stakeholder engagement.

The scope of the work includes 2,760km of fibre optic cabling, 140 trackside cabinets, dozens of equipment cabins and radio coverage across 230km, including:

Data transmission network
Operational telephony system
Tunnel radio system
GSM-R radio network, including base transmission stations, antenna, etc.
Relocatable equipment buildings
Route wide security systems
Typical Deliverables:

Reporting project performance, highlighting and managing all risks & issues and their mitigations throughout the project life cycle
Ensuring Projects are properly launched with the right stakeholders into the business
Ensuring that QEHS are engaged on projects at the right times taking a proactive approach in managing quality standards and the prevention of Health and Safety Issues.
Subcontract selection and management.
Provide detailed and regular project reviews and reports and KPI's.
Identify and escalate critical issues as required.
Provide day to day direction of project team
Maximise project income and cashflow.
Regular site checks to ensure all projects site safety activities.
Promote a positive Health and Safety culture, ndertake regular Site Safety Inspections on project portfolio.
Manage changes / variations within the project
Skills / Experience

Previous experience of project / construction delivery within the telecommunications industry, as well as supporting bids
Proven experience in supporting bids on major infrastructure projects
Operational telecommunications experience
Working knowledge of CDM regulations
Experience with NEC Form of contract preferable
Sound knowledge of managing a P&L account
Experienced in Risk Management and Controls
