One of our clients a fast-growing residential asset management organisation is currently recruiting for a Building Caretaker to join their team covering a couple of their properties near to you.Below is an overview of the role:Role: Building CaretakerLocation: Surrey/West LondonSalary: £30,000 per annumAssignment Type: Permanent, Full-TimeHours: Monday–Friday, 9:00am – 5:30pmAbout the RoleThe organisation manages a diverse portfolio of residential properties, including luxury, private, and social housing. Their London team is expanding and offers a supportive, professional environment with strong opportunities for growth.You will be responsible for ensuring the building is clean, safe, secure, and well maintained. This is a hands-on position based across two sites (3 days at one site, 2 days at another), acting as a key point of contact for residents, contractors, and the internal property team.Key responsibilities include:

  • Cleaning and maintaining communal areas
  • Daily inspections and defect reporting
  • Waste management and prevention of pest issues
  • Managing visitor/contractor access and security
  • Carrying out minor household repairs and maintenance
  • Weekly compliance and safety checks
  • Supporting Estates, Maintenance, and Lettings teams as required

What they’re looking for:

  • Experience in residential maintenance, caretaking, or handyperson roles
  • Strong understanding of Health & Safety in housing environments
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • Reliable, proactive, and able to work independently
  • IT-literate and comfortable with reporting processes
