Job Title: Sales Consultant - Pest Control

Job Summary:
The key objectives in this role are the development of current accounts and the identification and development of new business opportunities. Merlin are market leaders in the pest detection sector and offer a range of services not available elsewhere in the marketplace solving real problems for our clients.
You will achieve this by identifying key prospects within a geographic area. These will be Hotels, Care homes, and hospitality venues. You will identify the key decision maker within that organisation and build a relationship with them with the aim of building a long term and profitable relationship.
You will be responsible for conducting detailed site inspections, identifying pest-related issues and concerns, and providing recommendations for pest mitigation solutions. This role requires a strong understanding of pest behaviours, pest control methods, and the ability to create and implement pest management strategies. You will collaborate closely with customers to assess their needs and provide expert guidance on preventing and managing infestations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Recommendations & Solutions:
* Provide customers with detailed, tailored pest control solutions based on survey results.
* Recommend non-chemical and chemical treatments as appropriate.
* Advise on preventative measures to reduce the risk of future infestations (e.g., structural changes, hygiene practices, waste management).
* Reporting & Documentation:
* Prepare comprehensive survey reports outlining findings, recommendations, and proposed treatments.
* Maintain detailed records of inspections, treatment plans, and follow-up activities.
* Customer Interaction:
* Explain pest control procedures and treatment plans to customers in clear, understandable terms.
* Answer customer inquiries and concerns regarding pest management strategies.
* Provide aftercare advice, including monitoring plans and pest prevention education.
* Skills and Qualifications:
* Experience:
* Proven experience as a surveyor, pest control specialist, or in a similar role (preferred).
* Knowledge of pest control products, methods, and tools.
* Familiarity with health and safety regulations related to pest control.
* Education:
* Pest control qualification RSPH Level 2 certified
* Skills:
* Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to assess pest issues and recommend appropriate solutions.
* Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for preparing reports and interacting with customers.
* Ability to work independently and manage multiple inspections effectively.
* Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
