Belmont Recruitment are currently looking for a Functional Safety Engineer to join a Waste Management Company on an initial 3 month temporary contract. This is a part-time role working 18 hours per week over 2 days.

Key Responsibilities

Ensure an effective functional safety management system is in place and compliant with relevant standards.

*

Provide EC&I technical support to site projects and operational improvements.

*

Act as the functional safety subject matter expert for the site and wider business.

*

Support COMAH compliance activities, including intervention visits and safety report development.

*

Lead and support hazard identification and risk assessments including PHA, HAZID, HAZOP and LOPA studies.

*

Carry out and coordinate functional safety audits to ensure ongoing compliance.

*

Support the development of asset strategies and functional safety improvements for hazardous waste operations.

*

Contribute to the development of process safety and functional safety competencies across the business.

About You

*

Proven experience managing the functional safety lifecycle for Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS).

*

TÜV Functional Safety Engineer qualification or equivalent.

*

Experience leading hazard identification and risk assessment studies (PHA / HAZID / HAZOP / LOPA).
