MIG Welder/Fitter - Permanent

Stockport | £19.22 per hour (days) | £25.55 per hour (nights)

Day Shift: Mon-Thu 7:00am-3:30pm, Fri 7:00am-12:30pm

Night Shift: Mon-Thu 9:15pm-6:55am

Workshop-based | Overtime available | Shift flexibility required

We're looking for experienced MIG Welders who can also operate confidently as fitters. You'll be joining a well-established engineering company in Stockport, working on high-integrity fabrications for safety-critical projects. This is a permanent position, and you'll need to be open to working either day or night shift, depending on business needs. Night work is paid at a 33% uplift.

What you'll need:

Level 3 Apprenticeship in Welding/Fabrication (or equivalent)

Proven MIG welding skills on armoured steel or similar heavy-gauge materials

Ability to read engineering drawings and carry out fabrication and fitting work

Industry background in nuclear, defence, subsea, oil & gas, or other high-integrity sectors

The role:

MIG welding and fitting of thick section steel components

Working to tight tolerances from detailed technical drawings

Workshop based, with ample overtime and strong long term workload
