We are looking for an experienced Mobile Air Conditioning Engineer to join a well-established facilities and maintenance provider supporting retail superstore environments across the Cambridge region. This opportunity has arisen due to continued contract growth and increased service demand.

The business delivers planned and reactive maintenance across large-scale commercial properties and is recognised for maintaining high compliance standards and strong client relationships within the retail sector.

This role would suit a confident and technically strong Air Conditioning Engineer who enjoys working in a mobile role. The position is predominantly service and repair focused, with limited installation work, alongside supporting general building maintenance tasks where required.

You will be responsible for maintaining, fault-finding, and repairing commercial air conditioning systems, carrying out general maintenance duties, and ensuring compliance, efficiency, and minimal downtime across multiple sites.

Key Responsibilities:

Service, fault-find, and repair commercial air conditioning systemsCarry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive call-outsWork on a range of equipment including split systems, VRF/VRV, and packaged unitsHandle manual compressors and manufacturer-specific systems (e.g. Airedale, DX Cooling)Carry out general building maintenance tasks as required across retail sitesAccurately complete job reports, compliance documentation, and service recordsLiaise professionally with clients and internal support teamsParticipate in the regional on-call rota when required

Key Skills:

Proven experience working on commercial air conditioning systemsStrong diagnostic and fault-finding abilityExperience within a mobile service and repair roleAbility to carry out basic general maintenance tasksGood understanding of health & safety and compliance requirementsFull UK driving licence

Desirable Skills:

NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in Refrigeration & Air ConditioningExperience within retail or facilities management environmentsManufacturer training or experience with Airedale/DX systemsMulti-skilled background (gas, electrical or general building maintenance exposure beneficial)
