About the Company:We are a globally recognised engineering company with a strong presence in the nuclear and oil & gas sectors. Due to continued growth, we are looking to recruit an experienced Lead Mechanical Fitter to join our skilled team.

About the Role:As a Lead Mechanical Fitter, you will take a hands-on role in the overhaul, maintenance, and repair of a wide range of rotating equipment. You will also support and guide other fitters, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Overhaul and service rotating equipment including pumps, valves, and gearboxes
• Strip, inspect, and rebuild 3-phase electric motors
• Diagnose faults and carry out mechanical repairs
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
• Lead and support a team of mechanical fitters on site
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and quality standards
• Complete job reports and documentation accurately

Requirements:

• Time-served Mechanical Fitter with a completed apprenticeship
• Proven experience in a lead or supervisory role
• Strong background working with rotating equipment, pumps, valves, and motors
• Experience within nuclear, oil & gas, or heavy engineering environments (highly desirable)
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Commitment to safety and quality workmanship
