Job Description

We are looking to recruit a committed and enthusiastic Early Years Practitioner to work within a friendly and supportive primary school in Newport, starting in May or June 2026.

You will be based in the Early Years / Foundation Phase, supporting children's learning and development in a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment.

Key Responsibilities

Support the delivery of the Early Years / Foundation Phase curriculum
Work alongside the class teacher and Early Years team
Encourage learning through play, both indoors and outdoors
Support children's social, emotional, and educational development
Observe and contribute to children's progress and assessments
Maintain a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment
Person Specification

The successful candidate will:

Hold a Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years / Childcare qualification (or equivalent)
Have experience working within an Early Years or primary school setting
Be caring, patient, and reliable
Have strong communication and teamwork skills
Understand safeguarding and child protection procedures
Hold an enhanced DBS, or be willing to apply for one
