Role Summary
As a PMO Resource Manager in Equiniti Retirement Solutions, you will play a vital role in optimising the allocation and utilisation of the company's most valuable resources - its human talent. Working with the Workstream Senior PMO Lead and wider Resource Management Team, you will be responsible for ensuring that our professionals are allocated efficiently to support project delivery and overall company success. This role requires a keen understanding of resource management in a professional services environment, excellent communication, and the ability to work collaboratively with multiple teams.
Core Duties/Responsibilities
- Accountable for developing and maintaining resource management processes and procedures to ensure optimal resource allocation and utilisation for both pipeline and ongoing projects.
- Facilitating and collaborating with Senior PMO Lead, Project Managers and Department Heads to gather resource requirements and create resource plans for ongoing and pipeline projects, which are aligned to the resource skill sets required.
- Facilitating and collaborating with Senior PMO Lead, Project Managers and Department Heads to define prioritisation of change activities and maintain a methodology of defining prioritisation to enable informed business decisions.
- Accountable for monitoring resource utilisation and availability, and proactively identifying and addressing any resource constraints or bottlenecks.
- Accountable for maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of resource allocations, availability, headcount, and utilisation within your workstream. Ensuring pipeline work can be resourced sufficiently and highlighting resource gaps.
- Accountable for designing and owning a Stakeholder Communication Plan to provide regular updates on resource allocation status and address any resource-related issues or concerns.
- Accountable for producing and analysing resource utilisation data, presenting to leadership and advising on opportunities for optimization and improvement.
- Supporting the Senior PMO Lead in developing and implementing strategies to improve resource efficiency and maximize resource utilisation.
- Providing guidance and support to project teams on resource management best practices and procedures.
- Maintaining accurate skills & certification information for resources, to identify future skills gaps and ensuring resources with the correct skills sets are aligned to the appropriate projects.
- Accountable for resolving complex resource escalations, understanding the impact of decisions on the wider EQ Retirement Solutions portfolio, the impact on revenue generating activities and the people impacts of change.
Skills, Capabilities and Attributes
- Prior experience in Resource Management in a professional services organisation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to learn quickly and adapt to new challenges.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Stakeholder Management, with the confidence to collaborate confidently with senior leadership.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Familiarity with project management methodologies commonly used in the professional services industry.
- Strong organisational and time management abilities.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Knowledge of relevant industry regulations and compliance standards.
- Resilient and proactive with a positive, agile attitude towards changing demands and peaks/troughs in workload.
- Able to take the initiative on solving complex resource planning issues and designing mitigating actions with the mutual agreement of stakeholders.
- Must be able to understand the people impacts and aspects of change and the people impacts of changing resource allocations and prioritisations.
