Children's Residential Support Worker - Ofsted Outstanding Home, Wolverhampton

Join a team at an OUTSTANDING Ofsted-rated residential care home in Wolverhampton, who provide a safe, nurturing, and empowering environment for children and young people aged 6-19 with mild to complex Learning Disabilities.

We are looking for dedicated individuals to work in a two-bedroom home, where the well-being, safety, and happiness of each young person are always the highest priority. The Role: What You'll Do

As a Children's Residential Support Worker, you are central to the well-being, safety, and development of the young people in your care. Your daily tasks will include:

  • Providing high-quality day-to-day care in line with individual care plans.
  • Supporting children with daily routines (personal care, hygiene, meals, morning/evening routines, household tasks).
  • Promoting essential life skills, including independent living, communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation.
  • Building positive, safe, and professional relationships with each young person.
  • Supporting children during community activities (e.g., swimming, cinema, outdoor sports, trips, holidays).
  • Maintaining detailed and accurate records (daily logs, incident reports, medication records, risk assessments, keywork sessions).
  • Adhering strictly to safeguarding procedures and contributing to safe care practices.
  • Communicating effectively with colleagues, families, Social Workers, schools, and external professionals
Requirements: Are You the Right Fit?

We seek candidates who demonstrate professionalism, strong safeguarding awareness, and a true passion for this field.

  • Ideally you should hold Level 3 or Level 4 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent CYPW qualification) or are working towards
  • Previous professional experience in working in an Ofsted-registered children's home.
  • Experience supporting children or young people with learning disabilities, autism, communication needs, or behavioural challenges.
  • Ability to work a 3 on / 3 off rolling rota (includes weekends & bank holidays).
  • Strong understanding of Safeguarding, Children's Rights, and Keeping Children Safe in Care.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for completing reports, logs, and incident records.
  • Proven ability to follow care plans, risk assessments, and behaviour support plans.
  • Knowledge of Ofsted regulations, Children's Home Regulations, and Quality Standards
