Ganymede Solutions are working with one of the largest UK Train Operating Companies (currently operating 464 stations, the most of any TOC in the UK), who are seeking to recruit a Train Cleaning Team Leader to join the train cleaning team based at Heaton Depot, Newcastle Ganymede Solutions are a stock market recognised recruitment agency, specialising in the transportation, infrastructure, construction and engineering sectors on both permanent and contract basis.

The company covers the whole of the North, which includes the Northeast & West of England, Yorkshire and the Humber, as well as the occasional part of the East Midlands and Staffordshire. As a result of this, they have a large fleet of trains - 333 to be precise, so it's safe to say you will be active & busy with your role!

Ganymede are looking to hire someone with a 'go getter' attitude who isn't afraid to get stuck in and can lead a team by example.

The Role:

The role itself is that of a Train Cleaning Team Leader. This means that you will be leading a team of up to 4x operatives at any one time in the cleaning of a train, as well as issuing jobs on the worksheet, audits, and liaising with the Train Presentation Supervisor.

Standard duties include interior cleaning, hoovering the floors, inspecting/maintaining toilets, etc. For this role, my client is seeking a candidate that can 'lead from the front' and be an example to the other cleaners in how to carry out their duties.

The role is focused on Full and Deep Cleaning, where you will be cleaning everything in and outside of public view.

The Hours:

You will need to be flexible for the shift pattern, which consists of working 20:00pm - 06:00am, on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern.

Requirements:

Be able to commute to Leeds for the 2/3-day training course - START DATE 07/07/2025!
Be able to pass a Drugs & Alcohol test
Be able to pass a full rail medical - this will include, sight, hearing, colourisation, heart, lungs, brain, etc
Be Computer literate - Microsoft Office, Emails, etc
Previous Supervisory/Team Lead experience necessary - this does NOT have to be rail based.
Provide your Right to Work documents before deployment
Happy to help mentality/attitude
A good level of fitness is needed as the role is very hands on and you will be on your feet most of the shift
