We're looking for a Senior Risk Manager to take ownership of risk and opportunity strategy across a major programme. As a Senior Risk Manager, you'll guide project leaders, shape decision making and make sure risk management is embedded in every stage of delivery.

About the role

The Senior Risk Manager will act as the main source of expertise for risk and opportunity management across the assigned project or PMU. You'll optimise the risk budget, help prevent major issues, and bring consistent leadership across design, construction and programme controls.

Key responsibilities

Lead the programme team in building a strong approach to risk and opportunity management.

Motivate and support project teams to manage risks and opportunities proactively.

Keep all risk data aligned and support key decisions with clear, joined-up information.

Influence internal teams, senior stakeholders and supply chain partners on risk matters.

Drive the identification, assessment and mitigation of risks across all parts of the project.

*

Connect risk management with design, engineering and construction activity.

*

Ensure risk work aligns with safety, change control and wider programme controls.

Support Quantified Risk Assessments and advise on risk apportionment in commercial and procurement activity.

Lead and mentor a team that provides risk support to front-line delivery.

Promote a positive safety culture and strong HSE performance.

Champion inclusion, fair employment and environmental responsibility.

Skills and experience

*

Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence complex project teams and embed risk processes at scale.

Knowledge of programme and project management within large capital projects.

*

Understanding of industry best practice in risk and opportunity management.

*

Deep experience in risk mitigation techniques and cost risk modelling for contractor-led environments.

*

Background in major construction or heavy engineering projects.

*

Experience leading cultural and behavioural change around risk at all levels.
