Trading Standards Officer

Location: Matlock, DE4 3AG

Start Date: ASAP

Contract Duration: 3+ months

Working Hours: Mon - Fri, 09:00 - 17:00, 37 Hours per week

Pay Rate: £20.66 per hour

Job Responsibilities

Conduct investigations, inquiries, and prepare project reports.

Provide advice and guidance to businesses, consumers, and representative groups.

Develop specialist knowledge in trading standards and consumer affairs.

Collaborate with other enforcement agencies.

Travel throughout the county as required.

Person Specifications

Must Have

Diploma in Trading Standards, Consumer Affairs, or equivalent.

Good oral and written communication skills.

Experience with trading standards legislation and functions.

Ability to understand technical and legal information.

Fluency in communication with clients and the public.

UK eligibility to work confirmed.

Nice to Have

Evidence of an intelligence-led approach to identify priorities.

Experience advising Home and Primary Authority businesses.

Commitment to continuous service improvement.

Confidence in dealing with the public and businesses.
