This position is for a Fire Protection Engineer. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive fire protection solutions including life safety consulting, building code consulting, fire suppression systems design, fire alarm systems design, smoke control systems design, fire modeling and many other aspects of this field. The successful candidate will prepare reports, calculations, code summaries, provide code opinions, and prepare specifications. The candidate will design all types of fire suppression systems including sprinkler, foam, clean agent, and chemical systems. The candidate will design fire alarm, voice evacuation, and mass notification systems ranging from simple single building systems to campus wide systems. The candidate will prepare designs using BIM software such as Autodesk Revit. The successful candidate will prepare fire models using CFAST (zone) and FDS (CFD). This work will include developing design briefs, analyzing fire scenarios, and developing performance criteria for smoke control systems. The candidate will prepare egress models using software such as Thunderhead's Pathfinder. The candidate will be comfortable working as a member of a multi-discipline design team. The fire protection engineer will conduct job site inspections for both existing buildings and new construction. The successful candidate will be comfortable working on multiple projects at a given time.
